Through a trauma informed lens

My name is Abigail
I help organisations build environments where everyone feels seen, soothed, safe and secure. At its heart, a trauma-informed approach is about creating spaces free from judgement and threat, where the values of care, compassion and accountability are core.
I support leaders to model these values authentically, while creating an environment where staff can learn and flourish, challenge constructively and contribute their best thinking. Through practical development and real world application, this training helps staff respond in ways that strengthen trust, and create space for meaningful dialogue.
The result is stronger relationships, better decisions and performance that is driven by genuine commitment, not just compliance.

The goal is simple.

Delegates will gain insight into how institutional behaviours influence team culture, decision making and performance. When leaders understand trauma-informed principles, they set the rhythm for the entire organisation.
Co-regulation, relational consistency and intentional culture building become the norm, rather than the exception. Throughout the day we explore how to create environments where people feel able to speak up early, share different perspectives and take ownership for outcomes.
"When Polyvagal principles inform system-wide policy, they cultivate environments that nourish rather than deplete human potential."
Stephen Porges

What delegates will learn.
Delegates will develop the confidence and practical skills to apply a trauma informed lens in all settings.
By the end of the day, delegates will leave with clear tools and approaches they can apply immediately, helping them strengthen relationships, improve the quality of conversations and contribute to more committed, accountable teams.

Are you ready to...
• Create environments where people feel safe enough to engage?
Understand how safety, belonging and trust influence learning, behaviour and performance and how everyday interactions shape nervous system responses.
• Design services and workplaces that work for real human experiences?
Recognise how trauma, stress and uncertainty show up in teams, organisations and public services and learn how to respond in practical, relational ways.
• Lead with awareness, not just intention?
Develop the skills to notice patterns of survival, shutdown or conflict and use approaches that support regulation, honest dialogue and shared ownership.
• Build cultures where people can speak early and contribute fully?
Move beyond surface level compliance to create predictable, relational systems where challenge is safe, values are lived and commitment can grow.
